Because skin pigment is stubborn. Alpha Arbutin acts as a decoy. It safely mimics tyrosine, keeping the tyrosinase enzyme busy. Kojic Acid is a scavenger. It grabs the copper ions that the enzyme needs to function. Niacinamide works downstream.
